Tourist Mind/Pilgrimage

"Song Sung Blue" - Daily Coyote
Had enough of "the shift"/"ascension"/"awakening", all the omniscient gurus of false humility, the prognostications of "the (fill-in-blank) cosmic calendar was off by 'x' days" so-called teachers/enlightenment-facilitators, the time-wasting absorption in morbid vicarious living through the infantile leelas/dramas of "rising stars of modern spirituality" (eg: promoted by silly new-age networks like "Shift", which somehow came to "own" the 13 Indigenous Grandmothers [WTF?])? We were talking about 'time' here some days ago, and others have noticed perceptual changes.  Since then I've been tracking evidence of "change" (or lack thereof) in temporal and human-collective terms, and current perceptions of same, as appears on the web world and in other places, and that has prompted me to look up the term "narcissistic supply". Interesting. And, yes, there are roots and early-childhood causes for this and related disorders, and there should be some level of compassion in our response to it's presence, but 'idiot compassion'? I don't believe so. Wow, the levels of both denial and of unfamiliarity with the concept are astonishing. I guess we should take to heart what the I Ching counsels: "It is important above all to possess enough greatness of soul to bear with imperfect people". Obviously, because of their complexity and vastness, many things are impossible to track and come to any absolute conclusions. But that doesn't seem to stop the many voices of personal certainty, and even the passing on of 'information' directly transmitted from "God". Oh well. Enough said. Each to his/her own.

I've had an interest in following the Kumbha Mela, currently winding up in India (some good friends are there, along with 40 million other pilgrims; some of us are always on pilgrimage). Somehow I came upon the website of Baba Rampuri, a long-time American initiate of a major Naga Baba sect, a gentleman only slightly younger than myself who went to India first time a year after my ('69) initial trip. He doesn't strike me as a "guru" as such, but is considerably articulate regarding Sanatan Dharma, especially the history of the Naga Babas and their perennial oral-tradition "Book of the World". 42 years living as a Naga dude. Respects. Worth checking out some of his lecture vids. His words definitely triggered some potent memories of my early days in India and what was transmitted from a Baba at that time. It is absurdedly sad how so much bullshit is constantly and currently being propagated regarding what precious gifts and life-transforming/healing experiences are always and still readily available to the truly open and receptive individual willing to suspend the western-programmed mind, shut the fuck up, listen to the Devic spirits of the natural world and the subtle voices of the sacred 'tirths' (power-places/otherworldly-portals), and truly humble oneself before the hoary traditions of human and non-human masters. It also doesn't hurt to (easily) avail oneself of the company of the infinitude of living masters of arts and craftsmanship, as they often possess far more life-knowledge and spiritual insight than the self-styled gurus, priests, and charlatan 'babas'. Sheesh, ya might as well hang out in Goa with all the Euro-trash and Israeli assholes (become a 'star'!). All this can be done even now in the midst of the completely fucked-up 'modern' materialistic society that has taken over much of the land. Sadly, what we always called "tourist mind" preoccupies most present-day travelers, and even so-called "seekers", many journeying merely to advance their own spiritual egos, following the old-paradigm 'business model' and adding to their vocabulary of salesmanship.

How can one describe in literary terms the teachings of the Book of the World? Pretty much impossible. It existed before any and all 'religions'. It can only be accessed by extreme perseverance in emptying the mind via focused 'ritual' practices, though the 'rituals' may or may not come from a lineage or other outside source, may or may not appear simple-minded and pointless, may or may not require one's removal from 'normal' society. Aspects of the Book may even be unexpectedly and suddenly downloaded through divine grace depending on one's karma and humble 'ruinedness'. However the means, it does exist, and in my experience, is the only valuable transmission worth seeking as a sentient being incarnate on this Planetary Animal Mother. And the seeker may discover, as part of the transmission, the incontrovertible truth that ultimately he/she is responsible for everything. Yeah, tough to swallow. Sure takes the wind outta the sails of 'religions'. Aw shit, sometimes I just want to shout "it's the monotheism, stupid!" from the rooftops, but of course the consequences would be my responsibility (heh).

What hasn't "changed", of course, is the war on innocence, beauty, and just about everything else of the beloved divine creation, while the minds of the masses of humanity are driven scientifically to total terminal disfunction. And, maddeningly, the seeming increase in perception of the details of the beauty in living things beheld continues.
Examples of local insanities abound, of which this is only one: [warning - disturbing image and crude language]
So, I'm wondering: if I have a small dick and I go out and kill a lot of 'varmints', will it grow longer and thicker? What does it mean that 5,500 'liked' the above?
Viewing the overall history of humans, Pashupati is really pissed, btw.

Well, we have prayer. It seems to come down to that, whatever form that might take in each person's heart/mind. Speaking of which, we are about 9 days away from the hoary festival of Maha Shivaratri (March 10th), a full night of ecstatic contemplation and celebration of the true deep Self beneath the root of all dualisms. Shiva is primarily represented as the phallic stone placed within the 'yoni' pedestal stone-bowl (it's OK for pagan-haters to freak out here...haha). As possibly mentioned before, the night is divided into 5 "watches" - white, red, yellow, black, and crystal - symbolizing different aspects: 1)self-arising out of the void; 2)Shiva-Shakti/male-female merged; 3)ascetic hermit maha yogi; 4)fierce devouring & ignorance-destroying & encompassing infinite timelessness; 5)unchanging unlimited absolute clear reality. Songs, dances, sacred fires, merriment, fasting and contemplation may ensue for 12 hours uninterrupted.
Something you might enjoy listening to on Shivaratri night:
Or this short Nirvana/Atma Shatakam of Adi Shankaracharya (788-820 CE) - words and translation follow:
1) I am not mind, nor intellect, nor ego,
nor the reflections of inner self (chitta).
I am not the five senses.
I am beyond that.
I am not the ether, nor the earth,
nor the fire, nor the wind (the five elements).
I am indeed,
That eternal knowing and bliss, Shiva,
    love and pure consciousness.

2) Neither can I be termed as energy (prana),
nor five types of breath (vayus),
    nor the seven material essences,
    nor the five coverings (pancha-kosha).
Neither am I the five instruments of elimination,
    procreation, motion, grasping, or speaking.
I am indeed,
That eternal knowing and bliss, Shiva,
    love and pure consciousness.

3) I have no hatred or dislike,
    nor affiliation or liking,
    nor greed,
    nor delusion,
    nor pride or haughtiness,
nor feelings of envy or jealousy.
I have no duty (dharma),
    nor any money,
    nor any desire (kama),
    nor even liberation (moksha).
I am indeed,
That eternal knowing and bliss, Shiva,
    love and pure consciousness.

4) I have neither merit (virtue),
    nor demerit (vice).
I do not commit sins or good deeds,
    nor have happiness or sorrow,
    pain or pleasure.
I do not need mantras, holy places,
scriptures (Vedas), rituals or sacrifices (yagnas).
I am none of the triad of
the observer or one who experiences,
the process of observing or experiencing,
or any object being observed or experienced.
I am indeed,
That eternal knowing and bliss, Shiva,
    love and pure consciousness.

5) I do not have fear of death,
as I do not have death.
I have no separation from my true self,
    no doubt about my existence,
nor have I discrimination on the basis of birth.
I have no father or mother,
nor did I have a birth.
I am not the relative,
    nor the friend,
    nor the guru,
    nor the disciple.
I am indeed,
That eternal knowing and bliss, Shiva,
    love and pure consciousness.

6) I am all pervasive.
I am without any attributes,
    and without any form.
I have neither attachment to the world,
    nor to liberation (mukti).
I have no wishes for anything
    because I am everything,
    everywhere,
    every time,
    always in equilibrium.
I am indeed,
That eternal knowing and bliss, Shiva,
    love and pure consciousness.

Recovering Missing Time

Yamantaka, artist unknown - personal collection
My namaskars to any and all readers who might have found their way back here after seeing no activity for a period of two months (actually much more). That's a significant chunk of time from a certain perspective and considering the fullness of what has transpired, I'm not sure where to go in this always-very-undefined chronicling of one old pilgrim's (inside and out) travels, let alone knowing even where to begin. Heh, I know I'm not the only one who has fallen silent during the great, weird and perplexing transition (to what, I don't know!) through which we have recently passed. Other intrepid souls have soldiered on, keeping us updated on the unbroken stream of madness of these times, and I bow in gratitude, though the madness now completely eludes or defies comprehension.

I guess I should maybe point out that Universe/Goddess has knocked this one out to the very edge of what's considered 'normal' 3D reality (for even ultimate 'outsiders'), where previous abilities of presumed reality-comprehension are almost absent throughout most days, though these are not much missed or even given thought. The overall impression is that there has been a transit into an alternate zone of 'time' - a 'loka' where time itself barely exists as known in the earlier existence. And this has only a very small connection to the passing of any of the calendars, ancient or modern.

No, something else has transpired which, in this life, I had no knowledge of, nor even believed truly existed except for vague memories of fleeting dreamtime impressions, momentary past-life time-warp flashes, or mystical references that seemed mythical but maybe containing an amount of hidden truth but not within my level of faith to believe or personally know.

Ok, yeah, I'm being pretty vague and obscure. The reason is that I'm dealing with emerging realities that are actually dangerous things (on certain levels) to be tapping into in the Matrix circumstances where we all find ourselves, where there seems to be no way out, where all paths to a sane and reverent world for living sentient beings are seemingly blocked from all directions by an all-powerful array of multidimensional weaponry wielded by the most all-pervasive evil forces of Wetiko to have ever existed in this universe. I acknowledge some trepidations about revealing certain thought-dreams (cue Bob Dylan). We've watched while many, including the greatest medicine-warriors, past and present, have been being taken out, or isolated in captivity, like, forever. I don't think I need to identify specifically the Wetiko factions, since they're ID-ed all over the web, and we're well aware of their degenerate activities both public and private. I can say that it feels like a dangerous and tenuous moment here, because certain processes of healings - and counter-actions - are taking place connected to traumas from various levels of 'the past', recent and long-distant. We all are well aware of what has been, and is currently, being done to our children, and all other innocent life-forms (more specifically, women and children - it's what "soldiers" do); everywhere is war (cue Ras Tafari); who is involved, and their agendas (trans-humanism & emotion-consumption?); and the extent of the centuries-long cover-ups.

"Toys" for our children - drones and SWAT

We are also somewhat but less aware of the various magical-shamanic-tantric-entheogenic practices/technologies/wisdoms that have so-far mitigated and obstructed the total success of the Life/Earth-hating human-imposters [skills soon to be seen reactivated with a vengeance].

By way of illustration and metaphoric references to changing natures of Time, that recently caught my attention, there are 3 'films', recently watched, that parallel, in a sense, what is being perceived from my personal level of crazy out-of-timeness. (I'm really barely tracking what day, hour, week, or month it currently is…)
The first one was a captivating, hilarious throughout, movie called Safety Not Guaranteed (acting, script exquisite). It's a quirky romantic tale of two misfits joining in a mission to secretly build a 'time machine', yes - fun! Time travel as a way to rectify past 'bad choices' or heal 'consciousness-lapses'(?). Can love overcome the paranoia and mass-isolation/marginalization-programming? Themes portrayed here synchronistically proved to be useful in maintaining a heightened level of levity throughout the days and weeks following the viewing in which certain tests of spiritual focus were presenting themselves pretty continuously around here. References were made daily to 'my time-machine project in the basement', heh, during a number of high strangeness revelations, in close personal proximity to some archetypal psychopathic dramas in a 'spiritual-community' context being played out and needing to be skillfully dealt with.

Secondly, there's Cloud Atlas. A must-see, which symbolically portrays practically every degeneracy of historic Wetiko-infected 'civilizations', past, present and (possible) future(!); and the never-ending stream of human consciousness surviving, sacrificing, and progressing throughout endless lifetimes, rooted in, and maintained, very clearly, through the power of love. A critical mind might find flaws, but it is a masterpiece of film-art. I found great resonance within much of this 3-hour marathon ride, sobering, inspiring, and profound.  Here, the underlying theme is how the characters' remain deeply connected through lifetimes, ages, and cultures, even into "future" incarnations. So, time loses its linearity, and the "present" can only be grasped fleetingly as a shifting and fluid dream-like state.

The third 'film' was actually the concluding fifth season of the tv series Fringe. The upshot tying all the sub-plots and characters together was the idea that the gray-suited, baldheaded 'observers' (who showed up and took control over our - and a parallel - world) were/are actually the result of the evolution of a future insane 'science' experiment in the 22nd century. It was discovered at that (future) time that emotions could be deleted progressively from members of our species with a resulting increase in "intelligence" (the kind exemplified by that "autistic" freak Temple Grandin). That gradual tweaking resulted in an empathy-less race that developed time-travel technology and 'traveled' to this time in order to rule all planets for all time [yeah, what-fucking-ever]. However, it turns out some 'went native' and eventually discovered love during their observations, and also one 'conceived' an anomalous child with both high emotional/telepathic/healing capacities and intelligence. The kid is finally sent into the future time of the first discovery to convince the scientists of their terrible consequences and to take a different, more holistic path. The result was the 're-setting' of time. The appearance of the 'observers' never happens. Lovers aren't sacrificed nor do their children die. Scientific hubris is exposed and such areas of research terminated. Nice wrap-up.

I'm just holding the position that we are now in a different 'time'-frame, that we've been imprisoned in a deeply fraudulent spiritual propaganda-matrix regarding time, and our paths of action must change, and have changed drastically. I don't believe in using the moment for, nor do I have any interest in, explaining or convincing others of the errors of the previous era of hubristic and ego-centric human behaviors. I don't mean that we're out of the woods/pit of hell, by any means. Its just that words, spoken or written, with the idea of changing consciousnesses of our fellow species appear to have been not as effective as hoped. Some are commitedly locked into 24/7 delusion, and others into some kind of Wetiko 'trans-humanism' fetish. Either way, they are outside of 'now', and rooting down and reasoning are out of the question. I don't participate in lengthly discussions of "how fucked up things are" any more with friends. I'd rather keep bring awareness around to love and beauty. Not for reasons of new-age head-burying, but because its all been covered and talked to death for some of us our whole lives. Is that insane? Maybe, but I'm simply calling out a new 'yuga', in my own simple-minded way.

OK, I'm probably certifiable now. Barely using clock or calendar. On waking I decide what to call 'today'. Making new names for weeks, months, years, yugas and other such categories of temporal measure, of lengths which I decide upon spontaneously in the moment. Everywhere the shitstem is same, micro- and macro-cosmically, I see, I hear, it's in my face, it comes to my home….I'm looking for courage and uncompromising impeccability, but mostly no one around cuts it, it's nowhere to be found, so I stay where I can't be found. Suddenly I have everything I need or ever wanted. Dedicated, enthusiastic students visit me frequently on Skype. I've been two months without wheels, chopping wood, carrying water, rooting down a couple miles up a snowy dirt road. I'm repairing my hovel, cleaning house, burning stuff, dropping off at the community thrift store, and sending extra winter-wear to some freezing elders in Lakota-land….now that I just got wheels again.
As for calendars, I'm using the ones shown at right. As you can see, they are circular/cyclical. Some days/periods are 'elephants', others are 'flowers', and occasionally there are 'hearts', along with the frequent 'mirrors' and 'stars'….so everything is covered and life stays on schedule (grin).

Matangi: According to John Lash, by his temporal reckoning, we have entered into the time of the Mahavidya Goddess Matangi. She is "the outcast", "she who vanquishes deceit". From his article on metahistory.org:
"As voodoo was directed against the predators of the native Haitians, so it may be said that the supernatural magic of Kali is now directed against the globalist fascist elite. This is the power to avenge those who have been wronged, polluted by the toxics potions of the predators, left out and left over, discarded. Kali herself is the exterminator of behavioral clones, the archontified population living in terror of those who reign over them by victim-perpetrator collusion, the rule of deceit. But Matangi is specifically the terminator of deceit and exterminator of the deceitful, including those in complicity with perpetration of social evil, who far outnumber the originators, strategists, or masterminds. For instance, the media whores, talking heads, and shills who lavishly propagated the cover-up of 9/11. Those who to this day protest in the public airwaves, 'But why would the government lie to us?', when they know better."
Umm…SANDY HOOK, anyone? There's a growing consensus that 'humiliation' is a big factor in this, and all the other uncountable atrocities. Another factor is that all of it just really creeps out any normal human left standing. Sure, mind-fucking has always gone on, but as information and awareness has risen in a portion of the species doing 'the work', the mind-scramble (with its attendant meds, GMOs, psy-ops traumas, and chemtrails) has reached unheard-of diabolical and demonic levels. Now the term 'demoralization' has been used to describe the main agenda feature. Twelfth Bough is really covering the deep levels of the war splendidly. Personally, the level of 'local demoralization' has been hitting very close to home. And Marsha Stout's new book describes what's happening as "Limbic Warfare" - worth checking out.

Lash thinks we have to come up with a way to 'trick' or deceive the 'deceiver'-forces - Matangi's teaching. Be as cunning as the predator, and somehow pull a "false flag" on 'em. Not sure how that works, but will have to listen to his latest talks.

What happened on my way to the city yesterday: Stopped by the Rio Grande visitor center on the highway to fill water bottles, and was met by a BLM official moron who lectured me on how 'his' water was not for "home use". The word "control" was used at least twice as well as "ownership", and a reference to "who dug the well". So I wondered: BLM is not 'public land' and his salary as well as cost of well-digging, though paid by taxpayers, does not permit 'the public' access to any of the benefits. A clear example of the gene-pool that needs to be phased out. Of course this is the same BLM that 'turns a blind eye' to the sale of its captured wild mustangs to slaughterhouses, while pretending to 'protect' them and our public lands - for fraking! As a mad friend once asked, "this is a water planet, isn't it?"

I'm gonna end this with an absolutely hypothetical, fictional tale, of which any comparison with real-life persons is purely unintended and coincidental:
Let's say there's this old dude who has been keepin' on keepin' on for sixty-some years on this planet, searching out/stumbling-upon the best initiations and masters, doing 'the work' as best as he's able, avoiding matrix entrapment for the most part, attempting to walk the path in beauty, fighting the good fight, skirting the very edges of sanity solely with holistic self-medication, having and losing friends, associates and partners as awareness of unacceptable compromises arise, thinking he has experienced love in some instances in its highest forms but ending up disillusioned around others' less-than-full commitment to truth, having kept a 'positive' vibration going, avoiding cynicism, and had resigned himself to full acceptance of an increasingly more solitary but somewhat fulfilling and creative life for his remaining years, with a fair amount of sadness and vexation at the absurdity of the situation of this birth and existence in Kali yuga.
Then suppose in this hypothetical situation a much younger person suddenly appears, one whose presence is one of the most shockingly, unwaveringly 'present' experienced by the old dude, one whose every word and expression and gesture and sound and glance and silence in every moment embodies the absolute essence of his lifetime-acquired sense of all that is beautiful. Then add to that: the overwhelming, undeniable realization that actually the whole life has been a search for this individual (should she exist) ["with eyes like the one I ached for"*]. Well, actually not even sure how long the search has gone on, perhaps lifetimes, perhaps many many of those…yugas?…an unfamiliar, unquestionable certainty of that feeling, the truth of which almost cracks the veils of forgetfulness. It doesn't matter though, really, since all the same exact impressions, feelings, and recognitions are instantly identically answered with an added "yes" just as the words leave his/her lips.
Some kind of 'time-periods' go by. Each day is filled with nourishing, calm and clear silence, with song, with tumultuous healings of personal and collective traumas, with effortless impeccable spontaneous creativity, with continuous expressions of adoration and gratitude. Oh yeah, also more gratitude, and gratitude too.
So, these two, brought together by Goddess in order to create a Shri Yantra, together, for the community on the last day of Navaratri 2012, though remaining 'in the world', fall into a deeper level of really seeing the distractions of the 'maya' matrix, excessive attention upon which perhaps prevent us from staying on the exact path and arriving at the exact place at the exact moment - in the 'bindu' point of the yantra of our eternal beingness - to discover the universal (union of all the verses) scientific theory-of-everything formula for the new yuga: that TIME EQUALS LOVE [major thesis and mathematical proof to follow].

Neither one knows where, why, who, or how 'it' will go, any more than they know what kind of day they will wake up to in the next 'unit of time'.
....just a story.

Turning Lead Into Gold

As Jim Stone said today, "the truth does not hate, it just is". Truth be told, I took a break from media, news, internet, radio, all of it from before the (s)election a couple weeks back. On the other hand, maybe lies do hate; or maybe that's just intellectual semantics. The reality is that more than 99% of both what spews from the above sources, as well as what passes for normal human utterances, has zero spiritual content. That puts it pretty much in the 'lie' category. And from that it clearly follows that almost all of the terminally degraded 'beings' constituting our species are filled with hate (and fear) - of everything "other", including but not limited to: spirit, life-forms, co-operation, creativity, empathy, compassion, innocence, love... Clearly, it is all as intolerable to Bhoomi-devi as it is to my ears, and probably yours too.

What I had been doing/not-doing was a period of retreat and satsang of spontaneous and grace-filled regeneration, a plunge into an ever-deepening unknown, filled with silence and wonder, un-enhanced by any medicinal aids, which brought forth both profound remembrance and primal tests of courage, among many other deeply affecting consequences. Now isn't the time for more details; there's an ongoing process of integration that makes every day, and hour, off-the-charts intense, and writing doesn't come easy. I sense also that I am not alone in this level of experience happening to some degree with others at this cosmic moment. Purely speculation, I don't know. It's not my business either.

There came a point in time (yeah, back here) when I checked back in. I question whether there are words in our language to precisely define the level of insanity reached by humans, or what is taking place in this planetary sphere. I certainly don't have the vocabulary. There's probably an epidemic of 'dumb-struck' in the Love Tribe. Elsewhere the cacophony of religious and political mind-fucking, chaos-invoking noise is deafening. I'm not able to get too near it, but glean the essence of current developments in short glances.
First thing that came to my attention is the local [Los Lunas, NM] "Coyote Killing Contest", apparently unstoppable since it took place this last weekend, even with BLM and State lands supposedly "off limits". "Hunters" had brought their AK's to town to show those animal-lover protesters that 'nobody's gonna take away our guns and right-to-hunt'.
SAME DEMONIC SHIT AS "THEY HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO DEFEND THEMSELVES"....really, it's all the same to me. Do we need to create sub-categories of the Wetiko disease????
To view another perspective, the sane and reverent human one, view this local Coyote rehab release video.
And, as well this one, and this one too.

War on Wolves [sub-category of War-On-Everything] is going well: 7 shot at Yellowstone this weekend, 5 WITH RADIO COLLARS. Hundreds have been murdered in last couple weeks in at least 5 states. Here's a fact: 99% of hunters in the Kali Yuga are pieces of shit. "US Wildlife Services", of course, is a quintessential example of the 5000-year-old epidemic of in-your-face lies.
Just found this quote from John Steinbeck [The Log from the Sea of Cortez]:
"We have never understood why men mount the heads of animals and hang them up to look down on their conquerors. Possibly it feels good to these men to be superior to animals, but it does seem that if they were sure of it they would not have to prove it. Often a man who is afraid must constantly demonstrate his courage and, in the case of the hunter, must keep a tangible record of his courage. For ourselves, we have had mounted in a small hardwood plaque one perfect borrego [bighorn sheep] dropping. And where another man can say, "There was an animal, but because I am greater than he, he is dead and I am alive, and there is his head to prove it," we can say, "There was an animal, and for all we know there still is and here is proof of it. He was very healthy when we last heard of him."

Speaking of being healthy (and the War On Health) there's this sub-category: The Great Mexican Maize Massacre. And even this is merely a miniscule example of the multitude of symptoms.
Yet, we live on a planet with a substantial Sane/Love-Tribe population, scattered and isolated as it may be. We live for the beauty of the infinite forms of the bounty of this world, the creatures who allow us to engage our eyes directly, the sensuous and nourishing members of the plant lokas to whom we give gratitude, the enjoyment of our brothers' and sisters' creative expressions. And we profoundly and deeply appreciate, in wonderment, the interrelationship and interconnectedness of species/tribes/nations in this marvelous, unknowable lap of the Mother. Here's an example: The Year of the Bat
For the record, here is a concise history of the War-On-Lovers-of-Life. And as a contrast, there is the new website - The Science of Animal Sentience.
How do we walk through this, even, or especially, if it's only going to be a relatively short journey? This mantra has re-emerged: 'we have all the time in the world'. I believe we at least have time to make sure each and every one of our loved ones, our co-creators, our spirit collaborators - human and other - knows for certain that we appreciate, adore, love them, and are deeply grateful for the blessing of sharing this incarnation with them.

Since I spent a good amount of time recently (also) relishing various genres of exquisite music, may I post some for you?
Did you know that Mr. Tosh was assassinated on 9/11/87? Does that need a comment?

This is deliriously joyfull, and profound:

This one has been a favorite (theme song?) for a couple years, cracking my friends up as it blasted from my car..."even my best friends, they don't know..."

Lastly, an invocation to Goddess Saraswati, traditional from the Dagar dhrupad lineage (my guru-bhai, Manik Munde, on pakhawaj):

In a Shiv-Shakti Bhav

There's just too much happening too fast in my little corner of samsara, so I've been letting the outer illusion-matrix kind of dissolve out of my view while I savor the tsunami of grace flowing through some windows that have recently opened up. Windows, doors, and whole walls have blown open. I know it's Navaratri time, and the Devi is in her full power, but I'm also feeling in a Shiva bhava (how not?), so, in order to move along with this space beyond what was covered previously, I'm just posting some short vids that are coherent with the current vibe I'm feeling. I may never be able to go back (isn't that how it works anyway?).

In Loss, the Beauty Remains

These full moons - do they seem to come around before you're expecting? Are you having too much fun? I welcome the fullness, since I can't get enough of the 'revealing'. Yes, madness comes with the territory, and it's maybe even the major necessary element of revelation, in this age anyway. Mad dogs and psychopathic self-important morons in the noon day sun, on the world stage and in a neighborhood near you. And on every channel 24/7 for the foreseeable future.  Cartoons for the terminally deluded streaming from the UN.

It's all mitigated on an astonishing level too, by the beauty and sanity of Gaia's natural animal body and the empathic, loving unity within today's surviving sober tribes. At 7000 ft. we're getting the brilliant golden splashes of aspens, etc everywhere. At farmers markets and harvest celebrations the mood is commitment to keep on keepin on in anticipation of an even more brutal winter. We refuse to succumb to the programmed, engineered despair designed to capture our whole awareness.

In my world, we are also being tasked with the celebration and memorial for the life of our great bhakta singer and drummer bro who last week took an early leave (6 years younger than me). It has shocked our drumming world around the planet. He and I have been guru-bhais on two levels, at least (Ud. Zakir Hussain), and collaborated many times, mutually inspiring the other to the max. I drummed for his daughter in dance classes and performances in the 90s, and worked for his wife's company for a few years since 2001. Those kinds of leavings tend to have various magical consequences following, and they are still going on. Not easy, but undeniably real. I guess it's a tribal thing, based on love of beauty and surrender.

There's been some strange energies coming at me at various points recently, and especially strange since these have occurred while I have been in deep practice. Once, playing for many people last week at a retreat on the mountain with Sufi and Hindu singers, a large woman came on stage and was reaching for one of my drums in the middle of a piece. I said firmly "No!", and she launched into a tirade about how I didn't have any "love", or how "unloving", or something or other...hmmm. A few days later, while in the midst of a deep session in the temple, after our brother's passing, we were rocking it with the posse and a great Indian woman drummer from our sister-temple in India. Another psycho-queen grabbed an unused drum and started totally fucking the vibe up at a loud volume. I politely asked her to please lay out, and she also went ballistic and chaos ensued in the room. Later I had dirt thrown at me and more angry words outside. This will be dealt with, since we're in a lead-up to a big annual feast as well as the memorial, and I have been designated 'dictator' of the music and instruments by the staff and board (heh - they're finally waking up!), and there are 'security' personnel. I'm just not sure why I'm attracting this kind of shit. It comes with the territory as a performer, and it's happened occasionally over the years, so it's not new, but...why now? Full moon? A new level of dementedness reached in the Kali yug? My own Saturn square aspect?
Maybe it's just a further revealing of the appalling ignorance of 'merkins toward anything to do with traditions and respect. Fuck if I know.

I thought I might write today about more of the political and religious weirdness happening around this season, but I guess I'm just not in the mood. John Lash has some interesting things to say lately (if you can take his weirdnesses), which includes what he calls "the great bulwark of the archontic religious lie: master race theory". Geez, I just have no use for 'religion' as it is understood and practiced by most people. And I'm just so tired of being sick and tired of talking about it. Heh, there's even a movie coming out based on the book Caesar's Messiah (trailer on YouTube). That should stir the pot some. Bring it on!

I'm praying for the Montana wolves, on whom open-season may start in 3 days, if lawsuits fail. Take a look at THIS ARTICLE on a couple who lived in a tent for 6 YEARS with the wolf tribe. Extraordinary photos and story.

I did want to mention that I read something really wacked on a site (NIO) which I had previously included in my blog list. I wrote a note to Dr. Steve Best, the animal-lib author, lecturer and activist, and he told me he now considers NIO organization as completely insane, and has severed all ties. I agree with that assessment, and have removed my link. It is sad that all collectivities of humans, including those working for sentient-being liberation, somehow manage to mostly get infiltrated and taken over by the unhinged.

This is a little video project I put up yesterday. It is somewhat different from my usual, but have a look. As always, the sound quality is better with headphones or good speaker system.

One Step At A Time

HAPPY GANESH CHATURTHI!!!!!

I am not looking for solutions to the crashed computer problem now. It is being handled. I will just have to push back projects for about a week more. At that time I hope to recover my data and continue online teaching and work soon after. In the meantime I'm typing on a loaner, can keep connected with friends, current on events and creative outputs of the many cyber-teachers and love tribe. Tending more to what's presented in front of me also.
I am deeply appreciative for the support, help, and advice of many readers and friends. This minor temporal, and temporary, inconvenience has already provided many lessons. There is more present-focused interaction with both humans and animals. An awareness of my own unhealthy self-programmed false 'need' to produce on an artificial schedule. There are other revelations to be shared at another time.

But I'll probably eventually resume ranting about the undeniably unacceptable, and the astonishingly beautiful examples of behaviors continuously presented by life in the Kali yuga. Hopefully the beauty will far outweigh the separating and isolating ugliness, as it actually tends to do in our private worlds. There is a lot of grace flowing to some of us even while we abhor the atrocities done to others. I don't know why that is, but I am bearing witness to it. I have no philosophical or spiritual 'box' to contain an answer or a cosmology to explain authoritatively what we are all experiencing with eyes wide open, but I revel in, and live for, the insights, compassion and sharing that gets activated and moved in this medium.

Love to all

The Goddess and the Sixth Extinction

From his reading and research of the Gnostic/Telestai texts, John Lash (metahistory.org) puts forward the proposition that the goddess Sophia/Gaia attempted, as a divine experiment, to introduce or bring to manifestation the anthropos - archetype of man - nine times previous to this creation. Each of the nine cases resulted in self-destruction of the species, and possibly the planetary environment-matrix (including accompanying species) in which they were imbedded.
Strangely [coincidence-theory!], this corresponds to the Hindu (Vaishnava) cosmology of 9 previous worlds threatened with (self/demonic)-destruction, and 'saved/preserved' by an entity called an 'avatar'. In both systems, our world is the 10th creation, and the Hindus await the coming Kalki avatar. The gnostic story is quite different, however.

Lash, of course, considers the Earth to be a living, conscious, sentient being - our Planetary Animal Mother, and is appalled at the predominant references in our contemporary languages to a 'dead rock floating in space'. My own direct experiences and studies tend to agree with that assessment. As far as both the Gnostic and Hindu stories go, I have to say, still, I don't know shit. But I'm open to these facets of our mysterious creation, being that humans know but a miniscule portion of the living world surrounding us, let alone the true history of this world. Vedic and aboriginal oral histories and natural sciences are about the best we got to go on, nevertheless.

I'm actually writing this because many will not check Lash's latest posts, or find them hard to follow (with all the digressions). They are HERE. And because he has posed a question, perhaps not for answering but for examination, which I find both interesting and possibly crucial. I will get back to that after a digression.

An article published in the British Independent, titled Animal Extinction - The Greatest Threat to Mankind states the following: "We now understand that the majority of life on Earth has never been - and will never be - known to us. In a staggering forecast, [biologist Edward] Wilson predicts that our present course will lead to the extinction of half of all plant and animal species by 2100."
"A poll by the American Museum of Natural History finds that seven in 10 biologists believe that mass extinction poses a colossal threat to human existence, a more serious environmental problem than even its contributor, global warming; and that the dangers of mass extinction are woefully underestimated by almost everyone outside science."
Oh, hey, it's probably just another one of those commie pinko Illuminati disinfo psy-ops, like anthropogenic climate change, overpopulation, vegetarianism, imagined chemtrails, imagined rapes, psychopathy, false memories, and the like...go back to choosing your favorite political party/candidate (and don't forget to vote).
"All these disappearing species are part of a fragile membrane of organisms wrapped around the Earth so thinly, writes Wilson, that it 'cannot be seen edgewise from a space shuttle, yet so internally complex that most species composing it remain undiscovered'. We owe everything to this membrane of life. Literally everything. The air we breathe. The food we eat. The materials of our homes, clothes, books, computers, medicines. Goods and services that we can't even imagine we'll someday need will come from species we have yet to identify....The living membrane we so recklessly destroy is existence itself."

As we daily read the wildlife/biodiversity blogs, we see who the politicians and 'outdoorsmen' are making war on, with every bit of determination as the blood-for-oil freaks.
"...the big, scary animals that frightened us in childhood, and still do, are the fierce guardians of biodiversity. Without wolves, wolverines, grizzlies, black bears, mountain lions and jaguars, wild populations shift toward the herbivores, who proceed to eat plants into extinction, taking birds, bees, reptiles, amphibians and rodents with them. A tenet of ecology states that the world is green because carnivores eat herbivores. Yet the big carnivores continue to die out because we fear and hunt them and because they need more room than we preserve and connect. Male wolverines, for instance, can possess home ranges of 600 sq miles. Translated, Greater London would have room for only one."
Re: this "6th Great Extinction" - "an analysis published in Nature showed that it takes 10 million years before biological diversity even begins to approach what existed before a die-off".
Factoids: The World Conservation Union's Red List is a database measuring the global status of Earth's 1.5 million scientifically named species.  Of the 40,168 species that the 10,000 scientists in the World Conservation Union have assessed, one in four mammals, one in eight birds, one in three amphibians, one in three conifers and other gymnosperms are at risk of extinction. The peril faced by other classes of organisms is less thoroughly analysed, but fully 40 per cent of the examined species of planet earth are in danger, including perhaps 51 per cent of reptiles, 52 per cent of insects, and 73 per cent of flowering plants.

I know that's unquestionably too much information, especially before turning in for the night (or before breakfast). But I have lately been reflecting deeply on two things. One, the depth of obliviousness of the nature of our human-animalness, and, two, how inconceivably different/other is each species (and, equally, each individual of a species). Even with all the new 'scientific' papers emerging about animal sentience and emotionality, we (as a species) are light years away from having a clue about the reality of the inner lives of 'the others'. They are like inhabitants of different planets to us at this point in time, and we have no agreed-upon facility or technology to communicate. The point of this that we are f**king ANIMALS, for f**ks sake! So, it could not possibly be that this has always been the case in our past. I know this by long-term observing of various wild and domestic animals, and their interactions both within and without their species. And I also trust the word of indigenous historians and griots.

Back to the Lash question/examination. The story goes that Sophia, with the 10th attempt, (unintentionally?) transformed into the material body of Gaia herself, which was a different feature this time around. In any case, the intention was to mitigate, or prevent, the self-destructive tendency of evil/Wetiko-disease to grow to predominate over the peace-loving, empathetic, natural-balancing qualities of the embodied anthropos - the humans. The way this was envisioned to work was to be through the intimate, conscious interactions with the other species. So Lash is asking for reflection on the question/idea of WHY this didn't come about. What went 'wrong'? I guess, in other words, what happened to effect the disconnect from the rest of the animal nations, and when, where? This, I think, is the essence of what Lash is calling the ongoing, necessary "divine correction" that we are called upon to participate in. How can we access that crucial piece which surely is in our DNA?

There are other discussions in those "navigator briefings", including what's termed "moral anarchy" - 'anarchy' being defined as 'without-Archons' - that made me grin. But that and other interesting subjects can be explored if one is interested on the website.

Here's maybe something relevant, and ridiculously cute:
Belarus Soldier and Squirrel

Ok, while I'm doing 'cute', check this photo taken by one of Visible's readers -

Not sure if I posted this before. I think not, though I have posted other vids of Abida Parveen. This one is worth seeing, both for the exquisite music, but especially for the footage of the audience. They are Pakistani humans of all ages showing up in the hundreds to hear this magnificent spiritual music/poetry. They are another group we are supposed to hate and fear. See what you think.
